A police officer and a special guard were arrested for drug trafficking, the Internal Affairs Service of Greek Police announced on Sunday. The policeman used to sell the drugs from the official police vehicle he was using.
According to police announcement, the police officer involved in the drug trafficking used precautionary measures, such as coded conversations and the use of online applications in communications, while at the same time it was also established that he was dealing in narcotics, using an official car.
Another 4 people were arrested.
A case file was filed against them for violations of the legislation on addictive substances as well as for breach of duty.
The police officer was trafficking drugs since October 2022 at least and was trafficking mainly raw cannabis, which he procured from other arrested persons, while they used their homes as places storage, with the help of their companions, who were also arrested.
Regarding the involvement in the case of the Special Guard, it was established that he procured narcotics for his own use.
Specifically, on Saturday afternoon, April 8, 2023, the Police Officer in question, while on scheduled patrol service, told his escort the necessity of personal service and going to a point to meet a relative, who was about to travel. There he disembarked and removed himself from the official vehicle and after coming into contact with another of the arrested, he supplied him with a narcotic substance (cannabis), weighing eight (8) grams.
In subsequent searches of the homes of those involved, the following were found and confiscated:
2 kilograms and 536.2 grams of raw cannabis,
3 cannabis graters,
3 precision scales,
46 tablets and 11 vials of unknown liquid substances,
2 vacuum packers and package sealers,
multitude of nylon packages and
265 euros.
Those arrested with the case filed against them are taken to the competent prosecuting authority.
