Greece’s big chill continues on Friday as the country is under a cold snap with temperatures way below freezing, according to the Meteo weather service.
Extremely low temperatures and deep frost were recorded on Friday morning, especially in the central and northern parts of the country, with the lowest temperature of -16.1C (3.2F) recorded at Seli, Imathia.
Below freezing temperatures were also recorded at Vlasti, Kozani (-15.5C), Aghios Pavlos, Imathia (- 14.3C), Mavrolithari, Fokida (-13.9C), Aghios Dimitrios, Olympus (-13.4), Pertouli, Trikala (- 13.1C) and in Volakas, Nevrokopi (-13.1C).

The cold weather phenomenon dubbed “Filippos” that has brought heavy snowfall in many parts of Greece is expected to last until Sunday.
