A superyacht belonging to Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov was seized by German authorities in Hamburg on Wednesday, according to Forbes.
The German government has frozen the Dilbar, Usmanov’s 512-foot yacht, the publication said, citing three unidentified industry sources. Built in 2016 and named after his mother, the boat is estimated to be worth $594 million, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
She is reported to employ 84 full-time crew members, and contain the largest indoor swimming pool installed on a superyacht at 180 cubic meters. The length of the yacht is 156 m (511 ft 10 in), with a beam of 24 m (78 ft 9 in) and a draft of 6.1 m (20 ft 0 in).
The European Union adopted sanctions on six of Russia’s wealthiest individuals on Monday, including Usmanov, who called the decision “unfair” and “defamatory.” The Dilbar had been undergoing refitting in the northern German city.
“Superyacht should be refitted as missile cruiser and sent to Ukraine”
Ukraine’s advisor to the minister of internal affairs, Anton Geraschenko, responded to the report on Telegram by saying the yacht should be sent to Ukraine and refitted as a missile cruiser.
