Power providers in Greece announced the new tariffs for November on Monday. The new tariffs “electrocuted” consumers as the price increases range between 40 and up to shocking 88 percent!
According to the announcements made by the electricity providers, the November tariffs will have new price increases. The electricity price will be increased on average by 40%, or in extreme cases even by 88%, compared to October, media reported.
In the new tariffs, the price of a kilowatt hour is formed, on average and depending on the company, from 15 to 20 cents per kilowatt hour, for the first 500, while in October the prices did not exceed 12 cents.
Consumers in Greece can change the provider once a month when the new tariffs are announced.
The coming winter causes extra stress to the citizens, who do not know what to expect, noted news website libre.gr.
Within the week, the Environment and Energy Ministry will announce the subsidies on the electricity bills and also the possibility to receive a heating allowance for those who use electrical appliances for their heating.
The aim of the ministry is to relieve the household and make a comparison of electricity consumption in the summer months with the winter months, so that it is clear which households are heated with electricity.
