Tempi: Parliament approves KKE investigation proposal on fatal train collision

A proposal for setting up an Inquiry Committee to investigate the fatal train collision at Tempi on February 28, 2023 was approved by the plenary session of the Greek Parliament in a roll call vote on Wednesday evening.

The proposal titled ‘The investigation of the Tempi crime and all aspects related to it”  was tabled by the Communist Party KKE

It was approved by 266 MPs out of 298 MPs who voted and rejected by the 32 MPs of PASOK-KINAL that was insisting that KKE withdraws its proposal and its own proposal should be accepted.

The committee will comprise 31 members, representing all parties proportionally.

the train collision killed 57 people, most of them students returning form holidays and injured over 200.
