A high-ranking official of Greece’ rail network managing company OSE was beaten outside a court after his testimony of the train tragedy in Tempi that killed 57 people. After his testimony to an investigator, he was set free.
The Director of Electro-mechanical Systems and Electrification of OSE was attacked by four people in the back of the Courthouse in Larissa, central Greece.
It is suspected that the attackers were relatives of victims of the fatal train collision in Tempi on February 28. 2023.
Relatives want justice as soon as possible and suspect coverage by authorities and the New Democracy government.
A recent investigative report commissioned by relatives found out that the freight train was carrying illegal fuel.
After the attack, police forces rushed to the scene, while an ambulance transferred the OSE director to the local hospital, local media onlarissa reported.
