A bloodbath, a mafia-style execution with six dead took place in Artemida near the sea-side resort of Loutsa in northern Athens, some 35 km from the center of Greek capital on Monday afternoon.
The victims, all men and foreign nationals, were killed in an mafia-style gunfire.
It is currently unclear whether there was an exchange of fire between gang members or a cold blooded execution.
At least 25 bullet cashing have been collected by police on the crime scene.
According to preliminary information, the six victims were in a car, a black Ford with German license plates.
One of the victims managed to exit the car but died on the street, before ambulances and police arrived.
The gunmen allegedly allegedly fled in a black vehicle.
Police is seeking for the black vehicle as well as a motorcycle whose driver participated in the shooting, media report.
Authorities suspect that the shooting was a settling of accounts between gang members. According to unconfirmed information circulating by some media, the victims were Albanian nationals.
It is still unclear if there was an exchange of fire or if it was a cold blooded execution.
The bodies are to be taken for autopsy, identification of the victims is a necessity.
Investigation is ongoing.
