The prosecutor in Alexandroupolis, northern Greece, on Thursday pressed charges on three men arrested for illegally detaining 13 migrants. He also pressed charges against their victims, though.
The three men had forced the migrants into a trailer and uploaded a video on social media thus accusing them of starting wildfires in the Evros region.
They were charged with racially motivated crimes, physical abuse, kidnapping and exposure to danger. The Albanian national driving the car pulling the trailer was also arrested and charged with violating the law on personal data.
The 13 victims, migrants of Syrian and Pakistani origin,were later arrested on suspicions of arson.
The prosecutor pressed charges against them for attempted arson endangering human life, construction and possession of explosives, and illegal entry to Greece.
