Maximum temperatures in Greece exceeded 38 degrees Celsius on Friday, July 7, in the first heatwave of summer 2023
According to meteo service of the National Observatory of Athens, the highest temperature of 38.3°C was recorded in Agia Triada Fthiotida in Central Greece and Argos in eastern Peloponnese.
Second highest was recorded in Kalitthea suburb of south Athens with 38.2C
The map in the following image shows the maximum temperature in the country according to the records of the network of automatic weather stations of the National Observatory of Athens /meteo.gr.
Also shown in this, the temperature exceeded 35°C at 122 of the 471 currently active stations in the network (26% rate) and 37°C at 33 stations.
Indicative of the high temperatures that prevailed in the country is that the average maximum temperature among the 471 active stations was higher than 32°C, specifically reaching 32.5°C.
