The Culture Ministry announced that the Acropolis of Athens will remain closed to public several hours also on Sunday, July 16, 2023, due to the ongoing heatwave.
Last entrance is will be allowed at 11:30 a.m., while the spectacular ancient monument will resume operation again at 5;30 p.m., state-run news agency amna reported.
The archaeological sites of Ancient Agora and Keramikos as well as their museums will remain open throughout the day, the Ministry added.
It is the third consecutive day that the Acropolis is temporary closed to public during the hottest hours of the day due to the prolonged heatwave with temperatures over 40 degrees Celsius.
