Hooligans attack and injure man outside Court in downtown Athens

A group of hooligans attacked and injured a man outside the Athens Court of Appeal on Wednesday morning. The attackers were not even bothered by the presence of police squads in the area, which is supposed to be one of the most protected in downtown Athens..

According to media, a group of some 20 people wearing hoods and holding sticks attacked the victim and one more person.

The 24-year-old victim who was most likely injured by a knife, fell on the ground and started to bleed form the leg .

The lawyer’s victim put him in his car and took him to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for the injury. Police said his injuries are not life threatening.

It is worth noting that attack took place before the appeal trial for an incident of football hooligans violence had started and that police was informed in advance.

Police intervened firing tear gas.

A little later, police located a car with four suspicious men inside. Control in the car revealed that they had sticks and other items. The four suspects have been arrested.
