Very high temperatures are expected as of the end of this week in large parts of Greece, the meteo service of the National Observatory of Athens announced on Monday.
“A further increase in temperatures is expected in the next few days in a large part of the country, with the maximum temperatures reaching very high levels for the season at the end of the week,” meteo stressed, however, with no exact temperatures forecast or a heatwave warning, so far.

This could be the 4th wave of the 15-day prolonged heatwave that plagued humans and animals in July, the longest heatwave ever recorded in Greece.
There will be a small rise in temperatures on Monday compared with Sunday, July 30, 2023 in most parts of the country, with rain and storms in the northern parts of Greece.
According to the latest forecast the maximum temperatures on Monday will increase by 3 degrees on the Celsius scale in western Greece and Crete in comparison with Sunday.

Very High Risk of Fires
Meanwhile, the risk of wildfires remain “very high” on Monday and Tuesday, July 31-August 1, 2023, mainly due to the strong winds blowing in some parts with intensity of up to 8 Beaufort.
