The trade association of Athens on Friday announced the proposed working hours for Athens’ stores during the Easter holiday season.
According to the proposal, the Easter shopping holiday season seems to be extended, while it usual starts on Holy Monday.
With the Greek Orthodox East on April 16, the shopping holiday season starts on Thursday 6 April, 2023.
Stores operation hours:
Thursday 6 April: 09:00-21:00
Friday 7 April: 09:00 – 21:00
Saturday 8 April: 09:00 – 18:00
Sunday 9 April: 11:00 – 18:00
Monday-Thursday 10-13 April: 09:00 – 21:00
Good Friday: 13:00-19:00
Holy Saturday: 09:00-15:00
Stores will remain closed in Athens on Easter Sunday and Monday.
Note that supermarkets and food stores usually have longer operation hours on on Saturdays (until 20:00) and on Holy Saturday, while the majority of them also operate on Sundays where stores are open.
