Starting Sunday, May 1, Covid certificates and proof of negative testing are suspended for accessing indoors spaces or seating outdoors in Greece, as venues will also return to full capacity.
Immunity certificates or recent negative testing won’t be required at country entry gates either, as Greece is easing pandemic-related travel restrictions in view of the summer tourist season.
However, the wearing of masks indoors, such as in shops, museums, hotel lobbies and public transport, will remain compulsory at least until the end of May.
Less self-testing will be required from unvaccinated staff, teachers and higher education students, while school pupils will no longer have the obligation to self-test.
Covid restrictions lifted during Greece’s tourist season
Greece had implemented draconian measures for unvaccinated citizens since October 2021, banning them from accessing indoors spaces -from culture and entertainment venues to gyms.
