Greek authorities ordered two of the most popular beach bars on Mykonos to close down temporarily as a cluster of coronavirus cases was detected among staff on Monday.

Beach bars “Nammos” on Psarrou beach and “Scorpios” in the area of Paraga, are among the most sought-after in the cosmopolitan island.

The decision to suspend operations until Friday was made by the Secretary General of Civil Protection Vassilis Papageorgiou who paid an unannounced inspection of their premises last Saturday.

The Civil Protection team tested the staff of the two beach bars, and the first results came out on Tuesday evening.

According to information, at least 10 positive tests have been detected.

Mykonoslive.tv captured the scene showing the two deserted beach bars on Wednesday morning.
