Greek woman files for divorce after ChatGPT “reads” husband’s infidelity in coffee cup

Coffee grounds and groundbreaking stupidity! A Greek woman has filed for divorce due to an answer given to her by the ChatGPT, the generative artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI. The woman filed for divorce from her husband of 12 years, with whom she has two children, when she asked ChatGPT to tell her if her husband was cheating on her by looking at the coffee cup and interpreting the signs.

I see dead people and blown up brains…

The artificial reader ChatGPT read the coffee grounds in the cup, it interpreted them and came to the result concluded the husband had an extramarital affair and thus with a young woman who was determined to destroy their family.

Taken the answer of a robot much too serious, the wife filed for divorce.

Speaking on the morning magazine show “To Proino” on ANT1 TV, the husband said that his wife occasionally gets involved in various modern trends. In the past few months, as part of a viral trend, she made two Greek coffees and told me that “for a laugh” after drinking them, we should take a picture of the cups and ask chatGPT to read the cup for us. Not wanting to spoil her fun, I agreed to participate in her game.”

“The result of the analysis of my own coffee cup was that ChatGPT saw a young girl with the initial “E”, whom I supposedly think about intensely and my desire for a relationship with her will come true. Correspondingly, in my wife’s coffee cup, the conclusion of the “science” was that I am cheating on her with some young woman who intends to close our home and destroy our family. I considered it unnecessary to explain that this is non-existent nonsense and laughed,” the husband described his experience with Artificial Intelligence.

In contrast to the husband, the wife considered the conclusions of the AI as given, especially when she saw her own result.

“Unfortunately, she asked me to leave our house while informing our children that we were getting a divorce. I left the house, giving her time to come to reason, but unfortunately my fears about her mental state were confirmed when I received a phone call from a lawyer who informed me of my wife’s desire to dissolve our marriage by consent.”

“After my refusal, three days later I was served with a divorce petition, which contains what I mentioned to you,” the husband said, adding that his wife had a similar problem in the past. “She visited an astrologer and it took her a year to be convinced that none of what the stars had told her was true,” the husband stressed.

The husband’s lawyer underlined his client “is innocent until proven otherwise. The absurdity of artificial intelligence cannot be used as evidence in court.”

Skilled coffee cup readers are clever with human empathy, much superior than robots. they also read not only the coffee grounds in the bottom of the cup but also the foam and the coffee saucer.

Foam: Someone is watching over you – with good or bad intention…

Saucer: Troubles are going away, but slowly
