The Greek Parliament has decided to provide medical and hospital care to ten children from Gaza, preferably suffering from cancer, and humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, Paeliament Speaker Nikitas Kaklamanis announced.
Kaklamanis revealed this decision to the Ambassador of the Palestinian Authority to Greece, Yussef Dorkhom during a meeting on Thursday.
The Speaker expressed his concern about the expansion of hostilities taking place in Gaza and the high number of victims among the civilian population.
“It is necessary to resume negotiations for the renewal of the ceasefire, in order to ensure the release of the remaining hostages and to protect the lives of the civilian population in Gaza,” Kaklamanis pointed out.
He conveyed to Ambassador Dorkhom also the desire of the Greek Parliament to support the children in Gaza, “who are the greatest victims of this war,” expressing in this way the awareness of the Greek Parliament towards the suffering Palestinian people.”
Humanitarian aid will be sent as soon as the humanitarian corridor to Gaza is safely opened.
On his part, Ambassador Dorkhom stressed that “it is vital to ensure the unhindered provision of large-scale humanitarian aid.”
