The Greek Parliament became the target of a hacker attack on Friday afternoon as authorities announced that at least 60 e-mail accounts belonging to lawmakers, journalists and administrative staff were compromised.
The IT department of the Greek Parliament announced that they found that an attempt was underway to gain access to the Parliament’s e-mail accounts from an external IP.
“The e-mail accounts affected were immediately discontinued and the competent supervisory authorities were informed. The IT Department is in direct and close cooperation with the competent authorities in order to assess the incident.”
