17-year-old Polish minor in temporary detention

Τhe 17-year-old Polish suspect accused of murdering 16-year-old girl Maja was ordered to temporary detention on Monday.

The Appeals Council in Thessaloniki will decide in the upcoming period, whether or not to extradite the Polish minor to his homeland, where he is accused of brutally murdering teenager Maja. (KTG reported HERE).

The 17-year-old was arrested last Thursday night, in Katerini, northern Greece, where he was participating in a student exchange program.

In execution of the warrant issued by the Polish authorities, he was arrested and today was taken to the Thessaloniki Appeals Prosecutor’s Office to begin the procedures regarding Poland’s request to be extradited to his home country.

His mother, who traveled to Greece from Poland, was at his side.
