The rapid antigen test for Covid-19 has arrived in Greece, giving people a much easier way to be tested with only a saliva sample, without the need for samples from the pharynx and nose.

The new tests are cheaper, simpler to perform, less annoying, with less risk of infection and the execution time is definitely faster, ie it gives immediate results. They are also ideal for children.

The rapid antigen test may prove to be the most effective and immediate solution to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, multiplying the possibility of early diagnosis and immediately limiting positive cases.

More specifically, the rapid antigen detection test with a saliva sample gives results within 15 minutes, with 95% sensitivity, giving a new perspective on the early diagnosis of Covid-19.
