Greek trade deficit up in Nov

Greek trade deficit rose 1.2 pct in November despite an increase in the value of exports, with the trade deficit rising 4.3 pct in the 11-month period, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Monday.

The value of import-arrivals totaled 3.771 billion euros in November, up 2.9 pct from November 2015 (excluding oil products the value of imports rose 1.2 pct).

The value of export-deliveries totaled 2.217 billion euros in November, up 4.2 pct from November 2015 (excluding oil products the value of exports grew 11.1 pct).

The trade deficit grew 1.2 pct in November to 1.555 billion euros compared with the same month last year (excluding oil products the trade deficit shrank 10.8 pct).

In the 11-mont period, the value of imports totaled 40.097 billion euros, up 0.5 pct from the same period in 2015 (excluding oil products imports grew 6.4 pct).

The value of exports amounted to 23.150 billion euros in January-November, down 2.1 pct from 2015 (excluding oil products exports grew 2.1 pct)

The trade deficit totaled 16.946 billion euros in the 11-month period, up 4.3 pct from 2015 (excluding oil products the trade deficit grew 11.8 pct).
