Hoteliers in Greece are in a race against time to open their properties following the two-and-a-half month lockdown in the expectation that tourists will begin to arrive in the middle of June.
While year-round hotels open on June 1st in Greece, seasonal hotels and all Airbnb accommodations reopen later, on June 15, with strict health measures in force.
The Civitel Attik and Civitel Esprit in Athens have announced their official grand opening on Friday, June 5. The hotel’s General Manager, Cesare Fabrizio Piredda, says that the hotels have immediately complied with all guidelines and directives by the World Health Organization and the Greek government, regarding the decontamination and sanitation of all rooms and public spaces in the properties.
The hotels, situated in the upscale, attractively green suburb of Maroussi, only 20 minutes away from downtown Athens, have established appropriate hygiene banksnewscols, safety methods and operation procedures which respect social distancing and guarantee a safe hospitality experience for all guests, Piredda notes.
“Our guiding principle has always been to cater to and care for our guests as we do for our own colleagues and family. Today, more than ever, this core value guides us as we navigate the difficult challenge the coronavirus (COVID-19) presents us with, in order to best protect our guests and staff during such unprecedented times,” he says.
Seasonal hotels across Greece, however, have more time to prepare to host their guests this summer. The Civitel Creta Beach Hotel, on the Greek island of Crete, has announced its official grand opening on Wednesday, July 1.
The hotel is set in an exotic, lush garden dotted with palm trees, situated just off the long stretch of golden sandy beach of Ammoudara. The beach is perfect for visitors who really want to get away from it all; the resort is located just a few minutes away by car from the lovely city of Heraklion, Crete.
The hotel’s general manager George Perakis says that the resort has complied with all the appropriate health guidelines and directives. He adds that guests have always enjoyed ample space, privacy and serenity, within a secluded environment which is never overcrowded to begin with, an added bonus in these days of social distancing directives.
“We have always strived to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for both our guests and employees, and now, more than ever, we are determined to protect you and your beloved ones to the highest degree,” Perakis says.
