Greek Firefighters Battling Wildfire at Rafina, East of Athens

A wildfire broke out early afternoon on Tuesday near the resort town of Rafina, east of Athens.

Dozens of firefighters, joined by fire-fighting helicopters and planes, are currently battling the flames.

The Fire Service says that, at this stage, there is no danger that the blaze will reach populated areas.

The fire broke out on the first anniversary of the deadly fires that swept through East Attica, killing 102 before they could be extinguished.
