Greece Confirms First Case of Coronavirus in Athens, Third in the Country

Greek authorities announced on Thursday that a young woman who is hospitalized in an Athens’ hospital has been diagnosed as infected with coronavirus.

It is the first case in the Greek capital. Reports say that she recently traveled to Italy.

Two people, a mother and her child, have already been diagnosed of carrying the disease in Thessaloniki.

Following the cases, authorities announced that all carnival celebrations relating to “Apokries” have been cancelled.
