Dozens of Firefighters Battle Wildfire in Greece’s Evia

A wildfire that broke out on Saturday near the town of Karystos, at the southern tip of the island of Evia is raging out of control threatening a nearby village and holiday homes, the Greek Fire Service says.

Authorities have evacuated the settlement of Dilisos as the blaze was approaching houses.

At least five fire planes and five helicopters are aiding the effort of dozens of firefighters on the ground.

The Fire Service says that the blaze is aided by strong winds.
