Don’t Let History Fade Away: Touching Video of Greek Patriots on OXI Day

A touching video was released in the social media on the 80th anniversary of the OXI Day depicting soldiers dressed in the uniforms of the 1940-41 war walking in modern day Athens.

According to the creators, the video wants to spread the message that Greeks should not forget their history. “Do not let our history fade. Teach your children! 80 years since the epic 1940,” the message says.

The soldiers are seen walking in the streets of the Greek capital, as silent observers, as ghosts observing modern life and its problems.

In the final scene, four of them appear at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier  in front of the Greek Parliament to pay their respects to all those who gave their lives for Democracy and Freedom.
